When a shallow grave is discovered holding the remains of a dead, deformed infant, FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully travel to a small town in Pennsylvania to investigate. The residents of this quaint town treat each other like family, but the investigation leads to some townsfolk who take the family concept a little too far. Evidence in several crimes points to a reclusive family, the Peacocks, who seem to have "devolved" after more than a century of inbreeding.
